Chocolate Banana Ice Cream

Chocolate Banana Ice Cream

Are you searching for a delicious refreshing dessert? If so, you have come to the right place. This delicious dessert is perfect to enjoy on a hot summer day, but it doesn’t have to stop there. This banana ice cream would be spectacular any time of year! The first time I made this dessert for my husband and I, it was an instant win! We love the sweet, yet refreshing flavor and don’t even get me started with the smooth texture. I love how creamy and smooth this dessert is. Try this recipe the next time you have ripe bananas, you won’t be disappointed.

I love the flavor and sweetness of the ripe bananas. This recipe is an easy way to use up those ripe bananas sitting on your counter.

You can easily make this dairy free by using a dairy free milk alternative for those who follow a vegan or dairy free diet.

This recipe is so easy, all you need is a few minutes and you have a tasty treat! Before freezing the bananas, I recommend slicing the banana and spreading the slices out on baking sheet before placing it in the freezer. If you freeze the banana whole, it will be more difficult to slice the banana after it is frozen. Allow the banana slices at least 2 hours to freeze. I left mine in the freezer overnight. After the banana slices are frozen, you only need a short 5 minute window to blend up the ingredients. Add the banana, cocoa powder, almond butter and milk to the blender and puree until smooth.

When pureeing ingredients, I recommend turning off the blender and stirring ingredients frequently. This will help get the smooth texture and avoid clumps of banana. I also found that it worked better to use the “pulse” setting on my blender instead of a setting that constantly blends. Even though the ingredients may appear that you need more milk in the blender, I don’t recommend adding more milk because this could make your ice cream too runny.

If you have leftovers, freeze in a lidded container until ready to serve. Let ice cream sit out of the freezer for at least 10 minutes or until it has reached desired softness before serving.

I do not recommend making multiple batches at one time, I tried this and the blender did not work as well. I recommend making one batch at a time for best results. Enjoy!
